CALABARZON Region (Region IV-A) CALABARZON is one of the regions of the Philippines. It is also designated as Region IV-A and its regional capital is Calamba City in Laguna. The region is composed of five provinces, namely: Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon. The region's name is an acronym of the names of these provinces. The region is located in southwestern Luzon, just south and west of Metro Manila and is the second most densely populated region. CALABARZON and MIMAROPA were previously combined together as Southern Tagalog, until they were separated in 2002. Palawan was subsequently moved from MIMAROPA to the more logical Western Visayas, turning the former into MIMARO.

On August 7, 2000, Los Baños was declared as a "Special Science and Nature City of the Philippines" through Presidential Proclamation No. 349 in recognition as a center for science and technology in the development of agriculture and preservation of the environment. Airports in the Region:
Main Tourist Attractions of the region: Taal Lake and Volcano - a lake within a volcano and a volcano within a lake. The Taal volcanoe is one of the world's smallest volcanoes. The place is perfect for sight-seeing and doing nature trips. Beaches - the region can also boast of its white sandy beaches.
